video excerpt from a recent school board meeting (Thursday, March 26, 2015.)
It seems every candidate now has to have a video!
This is an unrehearsed, low tech, 6 minute video excerpt from a recent school board meeting (Thursday, March 26, 2015.)
No music. No special effects. No clever camera tricks. No slogans. Just actual work.
With an audience full of parents from Lakewood and Stone elementary schools advocating for their schools and no parents from Casa View elementary school, this was the case I made to amend the administration’s “bridge plan”to add Casa View to the lists of schools needing priority funding: http://www.tubechop.com/watch/5724204

I am pleased to report that the Dallas Morning News endorsed me:
“We enthusiastically recommend incumbent Dan Micciche…
Micciche, 59, is a thoughtful, calming voice of reason on an often fractious board. He doesn’t put politics over leadership, and he has a positive working relationship with other trustees. Moreover, he supports key reform strategies that this newspaper advocates, such as rigorous teacher and principal evaluations.
Micciche has played leadership roles in initiatives to increase parental involvement. He wrote the policy that expanded volunteer tutoring to elementary schools and a policy change that mandated breakfast in the classroom districtwide. An attorney, he’s a good negotiator who seeks workable solutions without demonizing others. Just last week, he persuaded trustees to add a $5.3 million wing at Casa View Elementary to ease overcrowding, as part of the district’s recently approved plan to renovate schools.”
I was also endorsed by NEA-Dallas employee association, Dallas Kids First, Alliance AFT teachers association, and Educate Dallas.
“Four organizations have made endorsements in the Dallas ISD board election on May 9. District 3 incumbent Dan Micciche is the shining star, having been endorsed by each group.”
“Across the board, Dan Micciche wins high praise for his consensus-building and knowledge of the needs of his district. During fractious board meetings, he manages to stick up for his district and see the bigger picture involving the health of the entire school district. During the bridge fund debate, his passionate plea to add Casa View Elementary to the list of schools to receive immediate improvements was an example of this. Notably, he is the only candidate to receive the endorsement of all six entities used for this analysis.”
